The Ascetical Journey of Lent towards Transfiguration

The season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, falling on 22nd February this year. It is the “Grace-Filled-Time” which prepares us for Easter, the culmination of the liturgical year and the life of every Christian. In the year 2011, the Late Pope Benedict XVI exhorted all the Catholics with these words: “Lent is a journey, accompanying Jesus as He travels to Jerusalem, the place where the mystery of His Passion, Death and Resurrection is to be fulfilled.”
